For those for whom just any table just won’t do, Interior Design magazine recently shined its spotlight on some of the most drool-worthy designs in its third annual Best of the Year Awards. One standout is Altura Furniture’s Nexus Square Extension Table, a Zen-modern pedestal table that expands diagonally, resulting in a perfectly balanced yet asymmetrical base.Another is the Morotai Table by Carlo, which combines three round tables perched on ultra-thin pedestals into an impossible-not-to-notice piece of art.
For modernist fans who want to take the retro look to the next level, the brand-new Chloe Drink table rebrands designer Holly Hunt as a 21st century Eileen Grey.It is small and round, made of polished silver metal with a glass top – but also has a uniquely graceful form that will work in any setting. The Hex Table is so modern it’s futuristic, linking together magnetically-charged, stainless steel hexagon segments into whatever configuration works for you. Finally, Dune’s Dare Table takes minimalism to the bare minimum, balancing a cocktail sized wood table top on a barely-there slice of steel.Of course, words can hardly to these tables justice. To see them for yourself, check out the latest edition of Interior Design.
