Women and shoes. It's a love affair that probably dates back to just after Eve ate the apple. Sure, she suddenly felt a need to cover her "naughty bits" with clothing, but she no doubt also learned nothing makes a girl feel better than a great pair of heels. The thing about shoes is, they never let you down. You can gain weight, have a bad hair day or experience any number of beauty hazards, but unless you suffer a broken toe you can always slip on the right shoes and feel like Cinderella.
If you just can't get enough footwear, this Fall's lineup is almost guaranteed to bust your bank account. There are so many trends, so many styles; you might need an extra closet just to house them all. New and especially fresh looking are shoes with cutouts, adding sexy peeks in unexpected places. Platforms are back, both in strappy, '70s inspired sandals and '40s inspired pumps. Ladylike peep-toe sling backs will be all the rage, especially thanks to VP nominee Sarah Palin, while flat faves include patent oxfords and anything with tassels. Of course, you can't go wrong with boots in Fall, and this year's range include lace-up boots (and booties), wedge boots, motorcycle boots, stacked heel boots, flat outdoor boots, flat tall boots and boots and hiking inspired, fleece-lined booties. So what are you waiting for? Clean out that closet and go shopping…before the spring shoes hit the stores.
