Women – and some men – dream of spending the night with him.  Now, people everywhere will be able to rest their heads at Leonardo DiCaprio’s place, even though the superstar actor may be nowhere in sight.  The 30-year-old star of acclaimed and successful movies from “Titanic” to “The Departed” is entering into the hotel business, having purchased an island (yes, ladies, he now owns his own island!) off the coast of Belize with the intent of transforming it into his own eco-friendly hotel.

DiCaprio is now the proud owner of Blackadore Caye, a 104 acre island located in the gorgeous Caribbean sea, a mere 25 minutes by boat from the Belize Barrier Reef, acclaimed by aficionados as the one of the top diving sites in the world.  DiCaprio’s plans include building an airstrip, infrastructure to support staff, and a world-class accommodation that will combine his passion for the sea with his commitment to the planet.  DiCaprio is designing the hotel to be self-sustaining and friendly to the local waters and wildlife.   Which means it will definitely be worth a visit, whether you’re a DiCaprio fan, or just a fan of eco travel.  We’ll keep you posted on the development as more news comes in.
